About John Terry Biography Vital Facts
King of Shaves are delighted to announce their sponsorship of England and Chelsea football star John Terry. The deal will see Terry endorse King of Shaves through to Euro 2008 and will feature the world-class defender in our first ever TV campaign.

The rise and rise of John Terry has made him one of the dominant features of the landscape of English football. Terry has matured from a promising young player moving through the ranks at Chelsea into the country's leading defender. His form last season led to him being widely tipped as the next England captain after David Beckham.

He is now firmly established as Sven-Goran Eriksson's first choice central defender as England head to the World Cup in Germany. His role in captaining Chelsea to their first Premiership title for 50 years last season brought him universal acclaim. Terry played every game in Chelsea's title-winning season up until the point the championship was secured. He also led Chelsea out at the Millennium Stadium and anchored them to their first trophy under Jose Mourinho when they beat Liverpool in the 2004 Carling Cup Final.

He played for England and Euro 2004 and marshalled the defence when the national team secured victories over Austria and Poland at Old Trafford that confirmed their World Cup qualification. His performances and his fearless style also earned him the respect and admiration of his fellow professionals.

They voted him the Professional Footballers' Association Player of the Year, the most prestigious award in the domestic game. It was the first time a defender had won the award since Paul McGrath's triumph 12 years earlier. Terry has begun to receive international recognition, too. He was Uefa's Defender of the Year for 2004-05.

And at a glittering gala dinner in London, he was also named a member of Fifpro's World XI in a team that also featured Ronaldinho, Andriy Shevchenko and Zinedine Zidane. Terry's form has continued to impress this season and his Chelsea side have once again claimed the Premiership title for 2005/06.
